Rob Ritchie

Rob joined IPFA in 2017 as a Managing Director. Rob is one of our first private sector team members and leads our critical infrastructure and utilities practice. He has worked in the projects sector for over 25 years, both in Australia and across major developed and emerging markets offshore.

Rob was previously a senior international law firm partner. He has advised sponsors and developers, contractors, lenders, investors and governments across a wide range of infrastructure, energy, resources and property projects. This broad experience has enabled him to work with project stakeholders of all kinds on delivering practical, solutions driven outcomes.

After qualifying at Allens in Sydney and assisting in the establishment of its Port Moresby office, Rob joined top ranked international finance law firm Clifford Chance where he became a partner. Rob was based variously in London, Singapore and Hong Kong. Following his return to Australia, he joined Ashurst as a senior partner in its Sydney banking and finance team and continued to split his time between projects in the local and international markets.

Rob is strongly regarded by market participants and regularly ranked in local and international directories. He holds degrees in law and economics from the University of Sydney and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Rob has a passion for infrastructure and project development, having seen first hand its transformative effect on communities and economies across the globe. This is due in no small part to his engagement with the many people it takes to achieve project success, and in building, developing and mentoring the teams involved.
