Giles Lamb joined IPFA in October 2017 as Chief Corporate Officer. In this role he looks after the corporate operations of IPFA, ensuring that it meets its legislative and reporting obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, as well as other legislation. Giles has an extensive understanding of the whole-of-government financial framework, legislation and appropriations, entity resourcing and other corporate matters.
Giles’ most recent role prior to joining IPFA was as a director in the Australian Government Department of Finance, where he led the delivery of the last nine years of the Finance Portfolio Budget Statements and other budget related documentation. This also involved management of the Department’s internal budget, policy development and briefing, and support to Finance Portfolio Entities.
Prior to that Giles worked on the development of the Australian Government’s Central Budget Management System, and in Finance’s Budget Group on the whole-of-government budget. Giles also has worked in Papua New Guinea and Samoa on financial framework matters.
Giles holds degrees in Economics and Asian Studies from the Australian National University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Giles is a trail-running enthusiast, and is well acquainted with the mountains and valleys of the ACT as a result.
